Penny Baby 03:12
Oh, the Canadian Penny. It shone small in my hand but big in my heart. So coppery, so gritty, so full of hand dirt of millions of my comrades. Where will you go? Where have you gone? Who's got you now, baby? Why'd you do it? Baby! Penny Baby! Penny Baby, you're gone. My Penny! Oh, calm down. Come down. Calm down! You were there, you were there, you took up room on my shelf. I don't even think about you. I don't really care. I don't even think about you. But come down! Calm down! I do! This note's for you. You rolled across the floor. You're my Penny Baby for sure.

I'm getting the sense that this feeling was birthed from the primordial ooze before T-rex was alive and Cartier too before amoeba gave us the ol' kick to dance the conversation to rosy cheeks and vivid imagination to reaching over and gladly changing the station to when singing our lungs out in your car is reality's only vacation to wilfully placing ourselves in a bad situation there's a cold molecular chemistry between you and me popping and writhing around the lava rock I'm really glad that the space rock hasn't killed us yet that this asteroid hasn't asteroid-ed us yet I'm ill-equipped to deal with a post-apocalyptic nightmare modern western convenience has made me such a sap I'm really glad that the space rock hasn't killed us yet

Totally absorbed in the carpeting. Totally absorbed in the design. You have a way with interiors. You can warp time. You can put a room together, and fill it up with air. You. You. You. You, a lady so fair. Let's look at apartments forever, even though I have no intention to buy. It's you, the realtor, the designer, that has caught my eye. You can put a room together, and fill it up with air. You. You. You. You, a lady so fair. Let's find a spot where home is a heaven, where every watch is made of crystal and pride, and in the bed there sleeps a dozen kittens, and the view is expansive and wide. Me, I'll study the great lovers. You will learn to travel in time. Our lives will be all romance and theory. And for dinner there will be chicken and wine.

There's no tyranny like a blueprint. Nothing stifles like a plan. With a few hundred dollars worth of wood, baby, I'm your man. I could build a tower in your backyard, the space station in your hand. The Coliseum in the oak tree, Niagara Falls in the sand. But you shot down every idea with your drawings and schematics. You said, "Just build the deck as we discussed and don't do anything dramatic." But I went ahead and built my dreams out of two by fours and nails. My hands were moving on their own, I knew that they couldn't fail. When it was done I fell back and I sighed and I gazed upon my skill. Then I took the nail gun to my heart for the beauty of the build.

Diner Band 03:28
The tambourine is on the fritz in my diner band. I don't sing the songs, but I put them down by hand. I used to wait the tables. Now I play for fans. There's more trouble in art than in seating plans. I just made it up: the love, the treasure, and the pain. I scribbled in my corner as the girls went by with plates. The most beautiful mortician to brighten up my day. There's no trouble with beauty as long as the bill gets paid.
