Get Back 02:24
If we made it through the winter we can make it through the fall Through all the smiling faces and the long and narrow hall Through elbows and shoulders and knees and shins There's a window in the corner and the light's breaking in Get back Get back We've made it this far We've made it now Our feet aren't tired We're still behind the plough Go ask your questions if you want 'Cause everyone knows and everyone don't Get back Get back It's something I remember I knew all along It came on like a dream like a long lost song That I can only tell you by whisper That I will only tell you by whisper Get back Get back

It's clearer than ever, the future will be bad. We'll take opportunities where they can be had. The government chooses us to shoot into space. It's our job, girl, to save the human race. We'll be bumping and grindin' on the red surface of Mars. We'll lay down every night and do our part. You're afraid of the silence. Well, so am I. They said they'd write to us, we should have known that they'd lie. With no way home, even if we wanted to go; just this useless rocket ship and a transmitter to shoot our coordinates. Let's climb into that crater, 'cause this is Mars and there's nothing much else to do. We're going to climb into that crater, 'cause this is Mars and there's nothing much else to do. Yeah, me and my state-sponsored girlfriend, we're going to climb into the crater, 'cause this is Mars and there's nothing much else to do.

It was a beautiful night, warm autumn air, exactly the same as New York when I was there. "Yeah, they're loading up air tanks and shipping them in, all so you can feel that feeling again." "Across bridges and borders and highways and towns, all for you, dear. All for this feeling that you're feeling now..." Listen, babe, I know we're a thing, but don't start with me tonight. Listen, babe, I know we're a thing, but don't mess with me tonight. You know I'm sensitive about the air. Don't break my heart tonight. And then the vampire said, "If I could die, I'd happily come back as a cat. Forget about poetry, forget about love. I'd be covered in fur and I'd purr, I'd purr, and I'd purr!" "Listen, babe, I know all about your dreams, I can't handle them tonight. Listen, babe, I know we're a thing, but don't start with me tonight." Listen, listen, don't break my heart tonight.

A friend is leaving for Europe. Another friend and I bought him gifts of Canadiana, then took him to a pizza place for a good time. Then we went to a bar with another friend. There was a live band that was good. We drank beer and stood in the corner and watched. A girl we went to high school with came over and talked to the travelling friend. She introduced herself to #2 and I, "Hi, I'm Lisa," then she pointed to the travelling friend and said, "We went to school together." No shit. I tried to make eye contact with a waitress there that I like, but it didn't happen Travelling friend wanted to leave so we left, and sat in a shittier bar with different people. All true. All true. If you can believe it.

Tell me why they don't keep you on the tv anymore Tell me why they won't let you in my living room anymore I saw you on the street one time You looked good, you looked classy and good I felt too stupid to say anything Plus, I couldn't remember your name But I remembered it as soon as you walked away And I swear I watched you on the tv every day There was a time when I thought I could be you But that's not going to happen for a variety of reasons Tell me why they don't keep you on the tv anymore Tell me why you don't hang out in my living room anymore

Balmy Winter 01:18
candy canes and purple rain open hearts, bloody veins tire fire, chicken wire 30 sips of whiskey prior down by law, Allen Ginsberg sittin on the couch I kissed her frothy lips, Harold Pinter coming home to balmy winter suburban war, foreign shore another day to mourn Lenore grim and grime, dandelion heel and toe the railroad line ain't no waste, these city lights digging deep and looking live moving on, moving slow never wanted you to go
